A conventional definition of a serial killer is a person who kills a large number of people over a long period of time for psychological reasons. The killings are carried out in a distinctive pattern, style, and manner, and each killer has his/her own unique way of murdering and has some traits. A serial killer may look like any normal individual by appearance but are extremely dangerous. Childhood experiences of trauma can have a huge impact on a person’s psychology, especially in the case of serial killers (Mitchell, 2005). Traumatizing childhood experiences can be both psychological and physical which can affect the child in various ways, which can be later observed in the serial killer’s killing pattern and modus operandi.
